Your ceremony is one of the most meaningful parts of your wedding day. It’s the moment where everything pauses, your favourite people are gathered together, and you and your partner finally say I do!
Because of that, your ceremony florals often become some of the most photographed flowers of the entire day, and set the initial tone for the overall aesthetic of your wedding. So when couples ask me where they should prioritise their floral budget, the ceremony space is almost always my answer!
The good news is your ceremony flowers don’t have to be used for just one moment. We always design them with repurposing in mind, so they can transition seamlessly into your reception space and be enjoyed throughout the celebration!
Below are a few of my favourite ceremony floral options, the spaces they work best in, and how they can be reused later in the day. All designs feature an abundance of moss at the base, creating a lush, overgrown feel, and petals can be added around the arrangement for an extra touch of romance too!
GARDEN MEADOWS
Our garden meadows come as a sweet set of two – simple and beautiful on their own, and perfect for creating that relaxed garden-inspired ceremony look.
They can be styled directly on the ground for a low, natural feel, or elevated on plinths for added height and a little more drama at the altar.
If you’d like to create more of a statement, additional meadows can be added in varying sizes and heights to build a layered, modern look. When styled across different heights and levels, they create a lush, abundant garden moment while still feeling soft and organic.
Best suited for:
- Intimate weddings or elopements
- Budget-conscious couples wanting impact
- Chapel ceremonies
- Registry style spaces
- Venues that already have architectural features or beautifully landscaped areas
Garden meadows are loved for their versatility. They feel soft and romantic without overwhelming the space, allowing the natural setting or architecture around you to still shine.
How they can be repurposed:
- At the base of your bridal table
- In front of the bar
- At the base of your seating allocation sign
- At the ends of long guest tables in reception
As the meadows are individual pieces, they’re also one of the easiest ceremony features to move and repurpose throughout the day!
GROUNDED MEADOW ARCH
Our grounded garden arches are a garden meadow-inspired option, designed to mimic the feeling of standing in an overgrown floral garden. They can be placed behind you and your partner, curving gracefully to form a semi circle, or be arranged in a straight line with varying heights for added visual interest. These designs are beautifully romantic and offer a stunning, slightly more lavish option for your ceremony backdrop, without the height of a full arch.
Best suited for:
- Outdoor garden or coastal ceremonies
- Chapels (looks especially beautiful across the window’s length!)
- Venues where you don’t want to block the view
- Indoor venues that don’t have soaring ceilings
As these designs are grounded, they don’t interrupt scenic backdrops like ocean views, hinterland landscapes, or mountain views, which is why couples love them for outdoor ceremonies.
How they can be repurposed:
- Used to frame the front of the bridal table
- Positioned at the base of a bar or signage
- Styled around your cake table
- Split and placed at the ends of long guest tables in reception
The beauty of the grounded meadow arch is that it’s actually made up of several smaller pieces arranged together to create the overall design. This means when it comes time to repurpose them, the arrangements can easily be separated and styled throughout the reception space, creating a completely new second moment from your florals.
FREESTANDING ARCHES / FULL COVERING ARBOUR
For couples wanting something truly statement-making, our floral arches make your ceremony feel like you’ve just stepped into a fairytale! Arches create the feeling of standing in a whimsical garden, surrounded by blooms on every side. They frame the ceremony beautifully and create an unforgettable focal point for both your guests and your photos. Pricing is based on the flowers and foliage used to achieve the desired height and lushness of the design.
Best suited for:
- Open outdoor spaces with minimal existing features
- Large properties or private estates
- Venues with neutral or simple backdrops
- Wide ceremony aisles that need height and scale
Because these are tall and impactful, they work best where there’s space to let them breathe and be *the moment*. In smaller indoor venues, they can sometimes feel oversized, so scale is always something we always consider carefully when designing!
How they can be repurposed:
- Moved behind your bridal table as a reception backdrop
- Positioned behind your cake table for a statement feature
- Broken into 2 pieces to frame your dance floor
- Used as a photobooth backdrop
If your reception space is in the same location, this transition is seamless and allows your ceremony flowers to continue being enjoyed throughout the evening.
Choosing the right ceremony florals often comes down to the space you’re getting married in, and how you’d like the moment to feel as you stand at the end of the aisle together.
Some venues already have beautiful architectural features or sweeping views that florals can simply enhance, while others benefit from a little more floral presence to help frame the moment.
No matter the style, ceremony flowers are often one of the most worthwhile places to invest. They frame the moment you share your first married kiss, appear in some of the most meaningful photos of the day, and with thoughtful design, can continue to be enjoyed throughout your reception as well!
If you’re unsure which option suits your venue best, I’m always more than happy to guide you through the options and help find the style that feels most right for your day!
